3 of Pentacles
About this card
An intense focus on and engagement in tangible creative activity. One moment in a much larger process of building a massive and durable edifice: a moment that contains the essence of the whole process and eventual product. A creative process that unfolds through collaboration among co-creators who all have distinct gifts to offer, or through an internal synthesis of three energies at the heart of the creative process: logical planning, soaring creative vision, and practical skill.

Questions and prompts
Which of the three figures do you most identify with: the figure of logical planning, soaring creative vision, or practical skill? Why?
Who are your collaborators or conversation partners in scholarship? How do their gifts complement yours?
Are you currently working from a blueprint in your scholarly process — an outline or plan that summarizes your overall vision? If so, what form does your blueprint take, and how is it guiding your process? If not, reflect on whether it could be useful to sketch one.
