I love the idea that looking at your past work is part of the creative process. I think that's how I've been feeling putting together job application materials like a research statement or teaching portfolio, especially after a few years of struggling to see the fruits of my labors.
I appreciated your highlighting the significance of the hidden root structure underground that feeds the visible accomplishments. So much of the work behind scholarship is hidden and rarely acknowledged.
