Queen of Pentacles
About this card
Embodying the powers associated with the element of earth: appreciating tangible pleasures, building practical skills, managing ordinary life, and experiencing whatever is perceptible with the senses. An energy that is attuned to, immersed in, and integrated with the cycles of nature. A strong and solid presence, emanating an aura of authority that’s grounded in a conscious relationship with and appreciation for the material world. The Queen is protected by strong boundaries, yet remains approachable and receptive to building power with, rather than over, others.

Questions and prompts
What are some of the practical skills you’ve built through your work as a scholar, even if they aren’t listed on your CV? How do you feel about yourself as you list these skills?
What boundaries protect the time, space, and energy you need for your work? How do you keep these boundaries from becoming too rigid?
What’s one way that your scholarly work is rooted in or attuned to natural cycles? For example, do you work differently in the summer than in the winter? On New Moons versus on Full Moons? Do you look to nature for metaphors or messages to guide your process?
